Rock and Rose + Birkmyer formed from the strategic merger of Rock and Rose Landscaping and Birkmyer Associates Landscape Contractors on January 1, 2005.  The merger combined the talents and resources of two of the Bay Areas finest landscape companies under one roof, allowing for a broadening of services offered as well as managerial and departmental specialization.

Rock and Rose Landscaping, founded in 1989 by Mike Boss, began as a 2-person operation offering garden care and limited installation services.  It grew to offer a complete package of residential services including design, installation, and maintenance.

Birkmyer Landscape Associate Contractors, founded in 1983 by Phil Birkmyer, specialized in residential landscape construction. It became the preferred contractor of some of the Bay Area’s top landscape architects.
